Learn the Bay. Ride with Confidence.

Learn the Bay. Ride with Confidence.

Kite The Bay is your gateway to kiteboarding, wingfoiling, and foiling in the San Francisco Bay Area.

All lessons and guided sessions are supported by Windseeker, a 21-foot Yamaha jet boat built for efficient, on-water instruction. Windseeker carries the gear, keeps your instructor close, and gives students a comfortable place to reset between runs. The boat can hold gear and up to two passengers, making each session focused, personal, and highly productive.

Unlike many lesson programs, Kite The Bay gets you in the water with a full-size kite on your first day. You’ll learn in the real environment from the start, with live coaching through radio helmets and support nearby throughout the session. When it’s time for a break or the ride back to shore, you can come aboard Windseeker and sit inside the weather-protected cabin.

Kite The Bay uses premium F-One gear for lessons, including kites, wings, boards, foils, bars, harnesses, wetsuits, and radio helmets.

The Bay is an incredible place to ride, but it can also be challenging. Wind, tide, current, and weather can change quickly. Our goal is to help you build the skills, awareness, and confidence to handle a variety of conditions safely.

You’ll learn how to think through real riding decisions, including:

What kite size should I rig?
How will the tidal current affect me?
What happens if the wind dies?
What should I do if I’m overpowered?

Kite The Bay is here to help you push through the early challenges, make smart decisions on the water, and experience the freedom of becoming a self-sufficient rider.

Come out for a session or two and experience a new-school approach to learning. It’s quick, efficient, and completely focused on your pace. It’s about tuning into the wind and water, finding the harmony, hanging on when you need to, and learning when to let go.
